Nails & Novels - February 2020

Hi everyone!

February is typically a month where everyone expects it to start feeling like spring but instead it feels like the depths of winter. So for this month I’ve chosen a book that will make you think about warm summer nights while also having a dark undertone to it – just like February does. February’s book is “The Lost Girls of Camp Forevermore” by Kim Fu. This is written by a Canadian author and takes place in the Pacific Northwest so you can feel right at home with the descriptions of the rocky ocean shores and places talked about in the book.

This book is about a group of girls who go off to summer camp and have a life-altering experience. Not only do we get to follow the story of them through camp but we also get to read about where they are now and how camp had effected their lives as a whole. This book was incredibly gripping and delves into issues I wouldn’t expect from it. It reaches into dark spaces within these girls lives and brings them to the forefront in a very unique and interesting way. Trust me when I say that you’ll want to grab a copy of this book.

To go along with the theme of second winter and the depths of this wonderfully written book I have chosen “Lincoln Park After Dark” as the manicure colour. This beautiful purple is so deep it borderlines black which gives it a sophisticated and clean vibe. It has been a long-withstanding color in the OPI collection which is something to write home about since they discontinue colors constantly, this is one of the surviving classic colors. Book your February manicure today to guarantee getting in for Valentine’s Day and to brighten up during this cold month.

Thanks for reading!

Jade
